In the crisp autumn afternoon of November 22, 2024, the life of 16-year-old Uzziah Shell, a Black male from New Haven, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. At approximately 2:35 p.m., gunfire erupted near the intersection of Goffe and Hudson Streets, a time when the neighborhood is usually bustling with the energy of the end of a school day. Uzziah, a student at Riverside Education Academy, was found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital in critical condition ...
