A Hispanic male, Domingo Torres, 44, was fatally shot in New Haven, Connecticut, on the evening of July 11, 2025. The incident occurred around 7:12 p.m. near the intersection of Maltby and Lombard streets in the Fair Haven neighborhood. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Torres unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was immediately transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
According to the New Haven Police Department, a preliminary investigation suggests that Torres was intentionally targeted. This initial conclusion is supported by video footage that captured portions of the incident. It is believed that Torres was riding a bicycle at the time he was shot. After the shooting, the suspect or suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot.
