On May 27, 2017, 27-year-old Norman "JR" Boone Jr. was fatally shot on Dickerman Street in New Haven, Connecticut. The incident occurred in the early afternoon, with Boone and another individual walking on Dickerman Street when they were approached by an assailant who opened fire, striking both men. Boone sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the second victim survived.
