On the evening of April 6, 2015, Sanjay Patel, a 39-year-old store clerk, was fatally shot during a robbery at the Pay Rite Food Store located within the Citgo gas station on Forbes Avenue in New Haven, Connecticut. Patel was working alone when two masked individuals entered the store, both armed with firearms.
