On November 16, 2015, Devante T. "Breezy" Baker, a 21-year-old from New York with familial ties to Connecticut and Bridgeport, was fatally shot in New Haven. The incident occurred near 1447 Chapel Street, but Baker managed to walk to Sherman Court, where he was found by officers before 9 p.m. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
