On January 3, 2023, 21-year-old Gerrod Dorn was fatally shot in Fort Worth, Texas. The incident began as a hit-and-run at a nearby Olive Garden restaurant, where Dorn's vehicle was struck. He chose to follow the fleeing driver to the parking lot of a Dick's Sporting Goods store on Sage Meadow Trail. There, an altercation ensued, leading both individuals to exchange gunfire. Dorn sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
