On October 6, 2024, 18-year-old Joseph Steven Padilla Jr. was fatally shot near the Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in a parking lot located in the 100 block of NW 24th Street. Padilla, a senior at Weatherford High School, had just celebrated his 18th birthday the previous day.
