Todd Neal Jr., a young African American male, tragically lost his life on June 11, 2018, in Fort Worth, Texas. The incident that led to his death was initially reported as a road rage incident, but further investigation revealed it was a targeted shooting over drugs. Neal was a passenger in a black Lexus when the confrontation began in the 3800 block of Altamesa Boulevard in Fort Worth. During this encounter, Keilon Warren, driving a burgundy Chrysler 300, fired gunshots towards the Lexus.
Although Neal and the driver were not injured in this initial shooting, the situation escalated as Warren, along with another vehicle, a black Chevrolet pickup truck, began chasing the Lexus towards Burleson.
The chase ended near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Renfro Street, where a second confrontation occurred, and Neal was shot. The Lexus fled the scene and eventually stopped in front of the Burleson Police Department, where Neal was pronounced dead. The investigation revealed that marijuana was found inside the black Lexus and a home in Fort Worth, along with several fake Texas identification cards, fraudulent credit cards, checks, and a large amount of cash.
Keilon Warren was arrested and charged with Neal's murder. He abandoned the burgundy Chrysler 300 near Darrin and Arnold Street in Burleson and was picked up by a silver Chrysler. Warren was taken into custody behind the Burleson Police Department. A second suspect, Evrick D. Johnson, 29, was also arrested for his involvement in the murder. Johnson was the driver of the black Chevrolet pickup truck that participated in the chase. He was arrested during a traffic stop on June 29, 2018, and booked into the Johnson County Jail for murder with a $100,000 bond.
