On the evening of February 5, 2023, in Italy, Texas, 54-year-old Jackie Wayne Shelby was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Rosemond Lane, where deputies from the Ellis County Sheriff's Department discovered Shelby suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
