On February 26, 2023, 20-year-old Jakavious Cortez Meeks was fatally shot in a parking lot in west Fort Worth, Texas. The incident occurred in a shopping center parking lot, where Meeks sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Following the shooting, Fort Worth police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of two suspects. The first suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident, while the second suspect was arrested in the subsequent months.
