Death by Force

Officer Jesse R. Parris, aged 51, was a dedicated member of the Fort Worth Police Department in Texas. On September 6, 1977, Officer Parris responded to a call about a man with a gun. Upon arriving at the scene, he encountered the suspect a block away from the address he was responding to. During the encounter, Officer Parris was shot once in the chest by the suspect and tragically succumbed to his injuries.
