On April 21, 2023, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Henderson County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the Bonita Point subdivision near Gun Barrel City, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered 25-year-old Alexis Deanne Garoutte slumped over in a truck, having sustained a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Garoutte was pronounced dead at the scene.
