Kimberly Simpson, 51, a White female, was killed in the early hours of October 17, 2025, when gunfire tore through a home in Mabank’s Cedar Creek Cove subdivision. Deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. to a residence on Taos Drive, where they found multiple victims; Simpson and two others—Connie Patrick, 72, and Ronny “Ronny/Rodney” Hammonds, 57—were declared dead, while two men were rushed to UT Health in Tyler, one in stable condition
