On July 27, 2023, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Houston police officers discovered a black Nissan Altima stopped in a moving lane of traffic at 4800 Neal Street. Inside the vehicle, they found 33-year-old Dwayne Vences in the driver's seat, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Houston Fire Department personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
