On October 6, 2023, at approximately 3:34 PM, Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting at The Villages at Fiskville, a senior living community located at 10127 Middle Fiskville Road in northeast Austin. Upon arrival, officers discovered 71-year-old Curtis Caldwell Sr. suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 4:11 PM.
