On January 29, 2024, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Fort Worth police responded to a shooting incident in the 1000 block of Northwest 16th Street in the city's Northside neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from critical gunshot wounds to the head. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where one succumbed to his injuries. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office later identified the deceased as 51-year-old Samuel Sosa Campos Jr.
