Johnny Ray Lightsey, aged 29, was the leader of the Fort Worth chapter of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club. On August 27, 1978, Lightsey was fatally shot six times while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of West Lancaster Avenue and South Henderson Street in Fort Worth, Texas. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a nearby hospital. Lightsey's death came just a week after a feature profile about him was published in the Star-Telegram.
