On March 25, 2024, at approximately 3:05 PM, Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident in the 2300 block of Highland Road in Old East Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 36-year-old Erick Lopez suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot. Dallas Fire Rescue promptly transported Lopez to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
