On the evening of April 13, 2024, Dallas police responded to a shooting incident in the 3100 block of Easter Avenue around 8:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Mavion Goldman inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. In addition to Goldman, two teenagers were injured in the incident: a 14-year-old male found shot inside a nearby apartment and a 17-year-old male who had been shot outside
and arrived at the hospital via private vehicle. Both teens received medical treatment for their injuries.
Following an extensive investigation, the Dallas Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting. On July 10, 2024, 19-year-old Dalon Griffin was apprehended and charged with capital murder. The following day, July 11, 20-year-old Dominique Lee-Bolin was also charged with capital murder; at the time, he was already in the Dallas County Jail on an unrelated charge.
