In the early hours of June 3, 2024, Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 2600 block of Macon Drive, near Bexar Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Zayvyon Damund Jones lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Jones was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Zayvyon was known for his contagious love and enjoyed fishing with his father, who was also a victim of gun violence.
His untimely death has left his family and friends in deep mourning. Funeral services were held at Black & Clark Funeral Home in Dallas, with visitation on June 12 and a funeral service on June 13.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Zayvyon's death. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. In an effort to seek justice, Zayvyon's family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for his death.
