On April 13, 2024, 34-year-old Jose Gonzalez was fatally shot while leaving the Executive Inn, located near 44th Street and Avenue Q in Lubbock, Texas. As Gonzalez was departing the motel in his vehicle, he was approached by multiple individuals who opened fire, inflicting critical injuries. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
