Sergeant Kevin Dale Cox, aged 38, was a dedicated officer with the Lubbock Police Department, Texas, having served for 16 years. On July 13, 2001, during a SWAT operation at a residence in south Lubbock, Sgt. Cox was accidentally shot in the head by a fellow SWAT team member.
