Ezekial Gonzales, an 18-year-old Hispanic male from Lubbock, Texas, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2017. He was fatally shot at a house party in the 2000 block of 48th Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found Gonzales lying on the ground covered in bloody towels, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to University Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Hernandez-Constancio, who was 16 years old at
the time of the shooting. Hernandez-Constancio was found hiding by his father, who was later charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon. Hernandez-Constancio was certified to stand trial as an adult and eventually pleaded guilty to the murder of Gonzales. In January 2024, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
