Darrean Lee Nichols, a 17-year-old male from Lubbock, Texas, tragically passed away on April 24, 2020. Nichols was involved in a fatal altercation that took place in the early hours of that day in the 100 block of Avenue M. He and an 18-year-old female companion, Brianna Garza, were shot during a dispute with David Lecarl Ruth, who was 19 years old at the time. The incident began over a drug deal involving marijuana.
