Robert L. Williams, a 63-year-old man from Euclid, Ohio, was tragically shot to death on November 14, 2015, in the hallway of the Indian Hills Senior Community Apartments. Williams was a resident of the senior living complex and had been living there with his girlfriend, Korri Henderson.

Williams and Henderson had agreed to become confidential informants for the police, providing information about their drug supplier, Eddie D. Brownlee. With Williams' help, Brownlee and another associate, Sheila A. McFarland, were arrested on drug charges. Ryan Motley, a 20-year-old associate of McFarland and Brownlee, was directed by Brownlee to harm Williams. Motley shot Williams, claiming he believed Williams was reaching for a gun. Following the shooting, Motley, McFarland, and Brownlee were indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, aggravated burglary, and kidnapping. Motley also faced additional charges of conspiracy.

Motley received an 18-year-to-life sentence through a plea bargain, while Brownlee and McFarland faced severe legal consequences for their involvement in the murder.
