Mwaka Azali, a 37-year-old woman of African American ethnicity, tragically died on May 26, 2021, in Euclid, Ohio. Her death was the result of a violent altercation with her husband, Omnisun Azali, who was 36 years old at the time. According to court documents and testimonies, Omnisun Azali shot Mwaka three times in the head with a .40-caliber pistol during an argument in their home. He claimed that he acted in self-defense after Mwaka allegedly shot at him first.
