On March 13, 2023, 16-year-old Daysha Cazley was fatally shot in South Holland, Illinois. The incident occurred at the Holland Inn & Suites Hotel, where a dispute between Cazley and her friend escalated into a violent confrontation. According to South Holland police, the dispute took place around 6:15 a.m. and involved 21-year-old Kennisha Laing, who was believed to be staying at the hotel.
