On May 4, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., Houston police responded to a shooting incident at 8100 Calhoun Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Marquisha Jackson lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Jackson was last seen with her boyfriend, 32-year-old Treyvon Johnson, in her blue Honda Accord, which bore temporary license tags.
Following the incident, both Johnson and the vehicle were unaccounted for, prompting a search by law enforcement.
On May 7, 2024, the search concluded when Beaumont Police officers located Jackson's Honda Accord in a parking lot at 2550 East Freeway in Beaumont, Texas. Inside the vehicle, officers found Johnson deceased in the back seat, with a revolver nearby. Evidence suggested that Johnson died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, indicating an apparent suicide.
The Houston Police Department has classified the case as a murder-suicide, identifying Johnson as the primary suspect in Jackson's death.
