On June 11, 2024, the San Angelo Police Department responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 1000 block of East 21st Street around 10:00 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found the house secured. Based on information from the complainant and evidence at the scene, they determined immediate intervention was necessary and forced entry into the residence. Inside, they discovered two deceased individuals: 72-year-old Clinton Willie Francis Jr.
and 29-year-old Malneshia Clark, both of San Angelo, Texas.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the incident was a murder-suicide. Evidence at the scene suggested that Clark fatally shot Francis before taking her own life. The San Angelo Police Department extended its deepest condolences to the families and friends affected by this tragedy.
In the aftermath of the incident, the San Angelo Police Department encouraged individuals experiencing domestic issues or crises to seek help from available resources, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988.
