On July 7, 2019, Gilbert Mascorro, a 32-year-old man from San Angelo, Texas, was found dead at the Red Roof Inn on South Bryant Boulevard. He had been shot multiple times, and an autopsy confirmed that his death was due to gunshot wounds. The San Angelo Police Department responded to a reported shooting and discovered Mascorro's body around 1 p.m. His death marked the fifth homicide in San Angelo for that year.
