Jimmy Andrew Gonzales, a 28-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity from San Angelo, Texas, tragically died on September 12, 2016. His death was part of a double homicide that also claimed the life of Anthony Michael Martinez, who was also 28 years old. The two victims were found inside a home in the 1000 block of Rio Grande Street, suffering from gunshot wounds.
They were both taken to Shannon Medical Center, where Gonzales was pronounced dead.
The investigation into their deaths led to the arrest of Raymond Alvarado Jr., who was 29 years old at the time. Alvarado was charged with capital murder for the shooting deaths of Gonzales and Martinez. In January 2018, Alvarado pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The 51st District Attorney, Allison Palmer, announced the guilty plea and sentencing, bringing some measure of justice for the families of the victims.
