On April 11, 2022, Thomas E. Haughawout, a 76-year-old man from New Philadelphia, OH, was tragically shot and killed in his apartment. The incident was reported to have occurred around 6:30 a.m., when one of Haughawout's neighbors heard a loud bang and requested a welfare check. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Haughawout's body and determined that he had been shot.
