Randy Wallick, who was involved in domestic issues with Carter, shot himself shortly after the incident. The Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the deaths were related to domestic problems.
The tragic event unfolded when Randy Wallick's wife, Karen Wallick, called 911 and reported that her husband was going to commit suicide at the First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia. She also mentioned that he had already shot someone. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found the truck unoccupied in the church parking lot and later discovered Randy Wallick near the treeline on the hill behind the church. Randy was flown to Akron General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his self-inflicted gunshot wound.
