On the evening of July 3, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Grand Prairie police responded to a shooting incident in the 300 block of South Center Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 28-year-old Jessie Hernandez Ibarra lying in a parking lot with gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office subsequently ruled his death a homicide.
