On September 7, 2024, 49-year-old Miguel A. Rodriguez was found deceased following a vehicular accident on the service road of the Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) in Houston, Texas. Houston Police Department (HPD) officers responded to the scene around 10:50 a.m., where they discovered that Rodriguez's red Ford F-150 pickup truck had veered off the roadway and collided with a power line pole, causing the vehicle to overturn onto its left side.
Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced Rodriguez dead at the scene.
Subsequent investigations by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences revealed that Rodriguez had sustained a gunshot wound prior to the crash, indicating that he had been shot while driving, which led to the fatal accident.
