On January 21, 2023, 72-year-old Yu Lun "Andy" Kao was among the victims of a tragic mass shooting at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park, California. Known as a contractor who sold materials for windows and gates, Kao had immigrated to the United States from Taiwan approximately two decades earlier with his older brother.
