Saieed Ivey, a 20-year-old college basketball player, was tragically shot and killed on June 9, 2016, in Monterey Park, California. Ivey, originally from Chicago, had moved to Los Angeles to escape the violence of his hometown and to pursue his dreams of playing professional basketball. He was a student at East Los Angeles College and was known for his athletic prowess and charming personality.
