On March 17, 2023, at approximately 8:15 a.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of East 132nd and Alameda streets in Willowbrook, an unincorporated area near Compton. Upon arrival, they discovered 44-year-old Ernesto Aceves, a local resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. Tragically, Aceves was pronounced dead at the scene.
