On June 7, 2023, in Modesto, California, 37-year-old Emmanuel Gomez was fatally shot while attempting to intervene in a vehicle burglary targeting his neighbor. Around 4:30 a.m., Gomez noticed three individuals burglarizing his neighbor's car and decided to follow them in his vehicle.
