On August 19, 2023, Grant Lyons, a 59-year-old resident of Los Angeles, California, was fatally shot in the Vermont-Slauson area. The incident occurred around 6:56 p.m. in the 3800 block of West 58th Place, where Lyons and two other men were standing in front of a house. An unidentified suspect approached and opened fire, striking all three individuals before fleeing the scene.
Lyons sustained a gunshot wound through the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other victims, a 44-year-old man and a 64-year-old man, managed to transport themselves to a hospital for treatment and were reported to have stable vital signs.
Known by the moniker "Madd Ronnie," Lyons was an active member of the Rollin 60s, a Los Angeles street gang. He had been anticipating his 60th birthday, often exclaiming, "60 for 60! A 60 turning 60!" Tragically, his life was cut short exactly 100 days before reaching this milestone.
As of now, authorities have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects in connection with Lyons' death. The Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate the case and urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving this homicide.
