On August 19, 2023, Grant Lyons, a 59-year-old resident of Los Angeles, California, was fatally shot in the Vermont-Slauson area. The incident occurred around 6:56 p.m. in the 3800 block of West 58th Place, where Lyons and two other men were standing in front of a house. An unidentified suspect approached and opened fire, striking all three individuals before fleeing the scene.
