Israel Raymond Gonzalez, a 19-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on August 1, 2014, near East Opp Street and Lacouvreur Avenue in Wilmington, Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when police responded to a shooting call and found Gonzalez on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds.
