On the night of February 6, 2024, at approximately 10:56 p.m., Richmond police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 2300 block of Lancaster Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered Myron Smith, a 50-year-old resident of Oakland, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Tragically, Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, marking Richmond's second homicide of the year.
