On November 1, 2024, at approximately 12:46 a.m., Santa Maria police officers responded to reports of gunfire at a fast-food restaurant on the 400 block of East Betteravia Road. The incident stemmed from a dispute between two groups, escalating into a shooting that injured two individuals: 18-year-old Robert Estrada of Nipomo and a 17-year-old male.
