On the evening of February 10, 2023, 16-year-old Christine Michael, a distinguished student from Brownsville, Tennessee, was fatally shot while returning home from a high school basketball game in Ripley. Christine, a junior at Haywood High School, was known for her academic excellence, serving as class president and maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
