On the evening of August 1, 2023, Warlene “Sis” Turner-Jones, an 81-year-old resident of Brownsville, Tennessee, was fatally shot in her home on North Monroe Avenue. The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m., when multiple gunshots were fired through the side door of her residence, striking her several times.
