Catherine “Cathy” Merrell Palmer, a 64-year-old woman from Powell, Tennessee, died on March 13, 2023, in what was later determined to be a murder-suicide. Deputies with the Knox County Sheriff's Office discovered her body, alongside that of her 73-year-old husband, Sammie Ray Palmer, at their home on Chambord Way after being called to perform a welfare check.
