In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 22-year-old Courtney Antwon Brown Jr. was tragically cut short. On March 26, 2023, the young Black / African American man was discovered unresponsive inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Chelsea Avenue. Memphis Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 4:28 a.m. to find that Brown had sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
