On the evening of April 17, 2021, a night out on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee, turned tragic for 23-year-old Dylan Lovell. While riding in a car with a friend, stopped in traffic, a group of individuals approached their vehicle. One of the individuals, later identified as Dorian Seay, then 16 years old, allegedly attempted to snatch some play money that Lovell was holding. When the attempt to take the money failed, Seay reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Lovell in the chest.
