On June 30, 2023, 30-year-old Cordell Dewayne Young was fatally shot in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The incident occurred shortly after midnight near the intersection of East 10th and Peeples Streets. Responding officers found Young lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds; he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, a 31-year-old man, also suffered gunshot wounds but survived.
