On July 1, 2023, 31-year-old Fredy Adelso Batz Che was fatally shot while fishing with family and friends near the Old Hickory Lake beach access on Burnett Road in Nashville, Tennessee. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot, after which Batz Che was found with a gunshot wound to the back of his neck. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
